Classical Korean acupuncture practitioner

I’ve spent over ten years helping patients in Beaverton who are struggling with digestive conditions that conventional medicine hasn’t fully resolved — IBS, chronic bloating, constipation, and the anxiety that so often comes alongside them.

My approach draws on Korean acupuncture and classical herbal medicine, with particular attention to the gut–brain connection. Most of my patients arrive after years of normal test results and temporary fixes.

“What I look for is the underlying pattern — why your system is dysregulated — and I build treatment around that, not just the symptoms on the surface.”

I completed my Doctor of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine with specialty training in digestive and gut–brain health. Every appointment is unhurried. I take time to listen carefully, observe, and adjust your care as your body responds over time.

If you’ve felt frustrated by treatments that only partially help, I’d like to understand your pattern and see whether this approach is the right fit for you.

Treatment Philosophy

The body responds best when it is supported, not pushed

01
Pattern-Based Diagnosis

I don’t use fixed protocols. Every patient has a different pattern, identified through careful listening and traditional diagnostic methods including pulse assessment.

02
Gradual, Thoughtful Adjustments

Treatment decisions are based on how your body responds visit by visit. There is no rush. Care is adjusted gradually to match your body’s own pace of change.

03
Root Cause, Not Symptoms

Rather than targeting individual symptoms, I look at how your nervous system, digestion, and overall regulation are working together — and where the breakdown is happening.

Digestive Health Focus

IBS treatment that looks at why, not just what

Most patients with IBS have had extensive testing that comes back normal. That’s not a dead end — it tells us the problem is one of regulation, not structure. The gut and nervous system aren’t communicating well, and that’s what acupuncture is particularly effective at addressing.

Many patients begin noticing meaningful change within several weeks of consistent treatment.

This approach may be right for you if:

Bloating most days
Normal tests, ongoing symptoms
Constipation (IBS-C)
Diarrhea (IBS-D)
Stress triggers flares
Unpredictable digestion

How treatment works

1
Pattern Identification
Full health history, symptom mapping, and traditional pulse diagnosis to understand your specific regulatory pattern.
2
Calm the Gut–Brain Axis
Targeted acupuncture to reduce visceral hypersensitivity and calm the stress-response pathways that trigger flares.
3
Restore Digestive Rhythm
Gradual restoration of coordinated gut motility and nervous system balance for stable, predictable digestion.
4
Herbal Support (if needed)
Classical herbal formulas to extend treatment effects between sessions and address deeper regulatory patterns.
